The New Paltz men's volleyball team swept a NECVA Metro Division Tri-Match held at Bard College today. In the first game, the Hawks swept Bard, 3-0 (30-15, 30-22, 30-22) and then swept Yeshiva 3-0 (30-20, 30-23, 30-24).
Kevin Stross led the Hawks in the Bard game with 15 kills on 21 attempts with no errors, including a .714 hitting percentage and three blocks.
Jake Moore chipped in with 12 kills, seven aces and three blocks.
Sean Foley added six kills and
Andrew Cassius handed out a game-high 34 assists.
Mike Fink and
Eric Rothbard each had 10 digs a piece as the Hawks upped their record to 14-14 overall and 4-2 in the NECVA Metro Division.
In the Yeshiva match,
Mike Van Tyne had career-highs of 23 kills and nine aces and
Eric Layton added a career-high eight kills.
Ramius Pruiss chipped in with a career-high seven kills, including a .583 hitting percentage.
Frank Ciccone handed out a game-high 40 assists and
Mike Dauernheim led the defense with eight digs. The Hawks improve to 15-14 with their third straight victory and are 5-2 in the NECVA Metro.
