JERSEY CITY, NJ- The New Paltz men's volleyball team defeated New Jersey City University 3-1 (31-33, 30-23, 30-18, 30-18) Wednesday night to improve to 17-14 overall and 6-2 in the NECVA Metro Division. NJCU falls to 13-6 overall.
The Hawks were led by
Kevin Stross with 18 kills and five blocks, including a .533 hitting percentage and
Mike Van Tyne had 15 kills and four blocks.
Sean Foley finished with a double-double with 14 kills and 10 digs, including a .357 hitting percentage.
Jonathan Van Dyke added 13 kills and four blocks, including a .500 hitting percentage and
Jake Moore chipped in with 11 kills and a .471 hitting percentage.
Bryan Weber had three kills, six digs and five blocks and
Andrew Cassius tallied his eighth double-double of the year with 65 assists and 12 digs to led the defense.
Mike Fink added double-digit digs with 10 on the night as well. Van Tyne had five service aces and Foley added three for the Hawks.
Austin Bryant had 14 kills and Kenny Lisk added 11 for the Gothic Knights. Jorge Rodriguez handed out 20 assists and Felipe Siqueira had 17.
