POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.- The New Paltz men's volleyball team fell to host rival #9 Vassar College 3-2 (30-25, 17-30, 25-30, 31-29, 12-15) Tuesday night in Kenyon Hall. Despite 20 plus kills from
Jake Moore and
Kevin Stross the Hawks were unable to come back from 2-1 down for the win. The Hawks fall to 10-9 overall and suffer their first loss in the NECVA Metro.
Jake Moore led the Hawks with a team-high 25 kills and seven digs and
Kevin Stross chipped in with 23 kills and a .600 hitting percentage and three service aces.
Daniel Liberto had eight kills and
Sean Foley added six and four digs.
Andrew Cassius had a double-double with 12 digs while handing out 50 assists.
Phil Tully led the Brewers with a game-high 26 kills and seven digs and Evan Fredericksen added 18 kills and 12 digs for a double-double. Matthew Elgin finished with 10 kills and Patrick Donohue had eight kills. Christian La Du led the defense with 14 digs and John Konow chipped in with 13 digs on the night.
