NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis team (4-0, 3-0 SUNYAC East) secured the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) East Division's No. 1 seed in the 2011 SUNYAC Women's Tennis Championship Tournament after defeating SUNY Plattsburgh (2-3, 0-3 SUNYAC East), 9-0, on Sunday afternoon in a SUNYAC East Division match at the North Tennis Courts.
New Paltz won with relative ease after the Cardinals challenged the Hawks at flights one and three of doubles. Freshman
Devin Tracy (Great River, N.Y./East Islip) gave New Paltz the sweep with a 10-8 win in the deciding supertiebreaker at No. 6 singles.
The Hawks return to action on Friday, Sept. 16, at 3:30 p.m., taking on rival SUNY Geneseo in Geneseo, N.Y.
