GENESEO, N.Y. – In a hard-fought match between the two recent juggernauts of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC), SUNY Geneseo (4-0) topped the State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis team (4-1) by a 9-0 final at the Letchworth Tennis Courts on Friday afternoon in non-conference action.
The closest matches of the day for the Hawks came at flights one and two of singles. Junior 
Montana Wilson (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) lost, 6-4, 2-6 (10-7) at No. 1 singles, while junior 
Kayla DiPaulo (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) dropped a heartbreaking 6-4, 3-6 (11-9) decision at No. 2 singles. Sophomore 
Paige Munroe (Ann Arbor, Mich./Ann Arbor Pioneer) also kept it competitive at flight three of singles, losing, 7-5, 7-6 (5).
New Paltz hopes for a reversal of fortunes tomorrow afternoon when it travels to The College at Brockport for a noon non-conference match.
