BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – For the second straight year, the State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis team (8-2, 3-0 SUNYAC East) fell to SUNY Geneseo (8-1, 3-0 SUNYAC West) in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Tennis Championship Tournament final, dropping a 5-0 decision on Sunday at the Binghamton Tennis Center.
With the title win, Geneseo earns an automatic berth into the 2013 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship Tournament for the second consecutive year. The NCAA Tournament takes place in the spring of 2013.

Montana Wilson (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) and
Kayla DiPaulo (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) fell to Mare Santos and Katie Talbot, 8-0, at No. 1 doubles, while junior
Paige Munroe (Ann Arbor, Mich./Ann Arbor Pioneer) and sophomore
Devin Tracy (Great River, N.Y./East Islip) lost to Dexuan Yuan and Minxuan Yuan, 8-2, at No. 2. Senior
Alli Esposito (Bellmore, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) and sophomore
Jessica Schmidt (Commack, N.Y./Commack) were beaten by Amanda Rosati and Sarah Shields, 8-0, at flight three.
Only two singles matches needed to be played to completion to decide the match. At flight three singles, Munroe was defeated by Talbot, 6-1, 6-0, and Schmidt fell at No. 5 to Sarah Shields, 6-1, 6-2.
The second place finish for the Hawks marks the 11th straight season in which New Paltz finished in the top two in the SUNYAC Tournament.
The SUNYAC Tournament marks the end of the fall season for New Paltz. The Hawks' spring season will pick up once again in March 2013.
