NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis team (6-1, 3-0 SUNYAC East) suffered its first loss of the season to non-conference Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (3-0), 6-3, at the North Tennis Courts on Saturday.

Devin Tracy (Great River, N.Y./East Islip) picked up an 8-4 win over Meghan Olson and Amanda Alexander in the No. 2 flight. Senior

Jessica Schmidt (Commack, N.Y./Commack) were unable to defeat Christina Ciamarra and Jessica Buckley, falling 8-5 at No. 3.
Wilson defeated Olsen in a thrilling match at No. 1 singles, 4-6, 6-4, 17-15. DiPaulofell at No. 2 to Ciamarra, 6-3, 6-1, but Munroe took down Olson at No. 3, 7-6, 6-2. Esposito fell in three sets to Laurilliard at No. 4, 3-6, 6-4, 10-1. Schmidt lost at No. 5 singles to Alexander, 6-1, 6-1, and freshman
Laura Tierney (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston) was unable to hold off Emily Aaldenberg, falling in two sets, 6-3, 6-1.
New Paltz returns to action tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 30, with a triangular match with Vassar College and New York University, which is hosted by Vassar. The action is scheduled to being at 9 a.m.
