ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's swimming team (2-3) wrapped up action at a two-day tri-meet against SUNY Geneseo (4-4) and the Rochester Institute of Technology (6-1) on Saturday at RIT, falling to both teams. The Hawks lost, 279-60, to Geneseo and dropped a 276-74 decision to RIT.
New Paltz's highest finish of the day came from sophomore
Jack Spader (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck), who covered the 500 freestyle in 5:02.51. Freshman
Rod Taskindoust (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown North) placed third in the 200 freestyle (1:50.47), sixth in the 200 butterfly (2:12.65) and eighth in the 500 freestyle (5:19.66), while freshman
Brandon Finn (Tomkins Cove, N.Y./North Rockland) ranked sixth in the 100 freestyle (51.33) and seventh in the 50 freestyle (22.94).

Bryan Farm (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown South) finished off the meet with a sixth-place time of 3:32.87, which proved to be the Hawks' best relay finish of the afternoon.
New Paltz returns to Elting Pool on Friday, Jan. 18, as it takes on SUNY Cortland at 4 p.m.
