NEW YORK – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's swimming team ranks third out of three teams after one day of competition at the NYU Invitational on Friday evening. Through one session, New Paltz has compiled 43 points.
Host New York University leads the pack with a slight 75-70 lead over the Stevens Institute of Technology.
Action at the NYU Invitational wraps up tomorrow with a prelim-final format. Prelims are set for 9 a.m. with finals to follow at 3 p.m.

Chelsea Allocco (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) posted the Hawks' top finish in the 1,650 freestyle, clocking a fourth-place time of 18:12.37. Freshman
Ann Fici (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge) touched seventh in the mile with an 18:48.14 standard.
New Paltz's 400 medley relay quartet of sophomore
Cassidy Griger (Cooperstown, N.Y./Cooperstown Central), junior
Samantha Granan (Hyde Park, N.Y./Franklin D. Roosevelt), sophomore
Kim Kallansrude (Muttontown, N.Y./Jericho) and senior
Victoria Scalise (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) charted a third-place time of 4:10.90, while the Hawks' 200 freestyle relay foursome of Griger, sophomore
Ella Graffin (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca), sophomore
Krista VerMeersch (Newark, N.Y./Newark) and Scalise came in third as well (1:40.58).
