EWING, N.J. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis team (13-4) dropped its final dual match of the season to Northeast Region No. 14 ranked The College of New Jersey (14-2), by a tight 5-4 decision on Wednesday at the TCNJ Tennis Complex.

Montana Wilson (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) and
Kayla DiPaulo (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) fell at No. 1 doubles to Alex Bologno and Tara Criscuolo in a tough match that ended in a tiebreaker with a final score of 9-8 (7-4). Junior
Paige Munroe (Ann Arbor, Mich./Ann Arbor Pioneer) and sophomore
Devin Tracy (Great River, N.Y./East Islip) also fell at No. 2 to Sarah Lippincott and Allison Tierney, 8-4, but sophomore
Jessica Schmidt (Commack, N.Y./Commack) and freshman Allison Starke (Binghamton, N.Y./Susquehanna Valley) were able to overtake Jasmine Muniz-Cadorette and Bianca Caracappa by a score of 8-6 at No. 3 doubles.
Wilson dropped her No. 1 singles match to Tierney, 6-0, 6-2, while DiPaulo was defeated at No. 2 by Muniz-Cadorette, 6-2, 6-4. Munroe also fell in her third singles match, 6-3, 6-2 to Bologno, but senior
Alli Esposito (Bellmore, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) knocked off Lippincott at fourth singles in a thrilling three-set match, 4-6, 6-1, 10-8. Schmidt shut out Victoria Michels at No. 5, 6-0, 6-0, and freshman
Laura Tierney (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston) closed out singles with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 6 over Megan Restua.
The Hawks will host SUNY Cortland, Hunter College, Mount Saint Mary College and SUNY Plattsburgh on Saturday, April 27, for the 2013 New Paltz Women's Tennis Tournament at the North Tennis Courts. The flighted doubles tournament is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and will be followed by New Paltz women's tennis alumni festivities.
