Chelsea Allocco Finishes 25th in 400 IM on Day 2 of NCAAs

INDIANAPOLIS – Senior Chelsea Allocco (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) from the State University of New York at New Paltz took 25th out of 29 swimmers in the 400 individual medley on day two of the 2014 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships hosted by Franklin College and the Indiana Sports Corp at the IUPUI Natatorium Thursday.
 
Allocco was out in 1:02.29 in the butterfly leg of the race, and she turned at the halfway point at 2:15.50 with a backstroke split of 1:13.21. She split a 1:18.89 in the breaststroke leg before firing off a freestyle split of 1:00.74 to finish with a final time of 4:35.13.
 
The top 16 swimmers and relays in each event made it back to tonight's evening session, which begins at 6 p.m.
 
Allocco concludes her collegiate swimming career on Saturday afternoon after the 10 a.m. preliminary session, as she competes in the 1,650 freestyle, which is a timed-final event.
