Chelsea Allocco Finishes 18th in 1,650 Freestyle to Close Out NCAAs

INDIANAPOLIS – Senior Chelsea Allocco (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) from the State University of New York at New Paltz finished out her storied collegiate career on day four of the 2014 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships hosted by the Indiana Sports Corp and the IUPUI Natatorium Saturday, placing 18th out of 31 swimmers in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 17:15.90.
 
She finishes her career as a two-time national qualifier, a one-time Honorable Mention All-American and an eight-time State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) individual champion. Allocco, who earned the SUNYAC's Grace Mowatt Award for excellence in athletics and academics following the 2014 SUNYAC Championships, also stakes claim to program records in the 500 freestyle, the 1,000 freestyle, the 1,650 freestyle, the 400 individual medley and the 800 freestyle relay and is the conference record holder in the 1,650 freestyle and the 400 individual medley.
 
Junior Sarah Thompson from Williams College won the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 16:31.17.
