NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's volleyball team will return to action on Tuesday, April 1, with a non-conference road match against Baruch College in New York City at 8 p.m.
RECORDS: New Paltz will enter Tuesday night's match with a 21-3 overall record, while Baruch holds a mark of 23-9.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (21-3): New Paltz topped Hunter College, 3-0 (25-23, 26-24, 25-19), in a non-conference match on Wednesday, March 26… New Paltz finished with 31 kills and a .360 hitting percentage while also adding four service aces… Sophomore outside hitter

Christian Smith led the Hawk offense with 13 and 11 kills, respectively… Junior setter
John Lutjen dished out 27 assists, while senior outside hitter

STATISTICAL LEADERS: Three New Paltz players make up the top 10 in the UVC in hitting percentage: Woessner ranks fourth (.381), Ferriter ranks seventh (.359) and sophomore middle blocker
Christopher Husmann stands at eighth (.345)… Ferriter leads the team and is ranked fourth in the conference in kills per set with 3.69… Woessner ranks third in the UVC in service aces, averaging 0.42 per set.
TEAM STATISTICS: Offensively, New Paltz continues to rule the conference's statistical categories, ranking first in hitting percentage (.312), kills per set (13.15), assists per set (12.21) and service aces per set (1.79)… New Paltz also ranks first in Division III in assists per set.
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS (23-9): The No. 13 Bearcats took the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) regular-season title after winning two conference matches on Saturday, March 29, first defeating Lehman College, 3-0, before taking down Hunter College, 3-1… Against Lehman, sophomore setter Steven Coniglio and senior right side Jack McKee each had nine kills, while sophomore outside hitter Brady Ambro added eight… Against Hunter, junior middle blocker Chris Kaimis had a career-high 18 kills and 12 digs, while Ambro also came up with a double-double with 17 kills and 10 digs… Sophomore setter Scott Standring dished out 51 assists.
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Three Baruch players make up the top 10 in the CUNYAC in hitting percentage: Coniglio leads the conference at .412, Kaimis ranks sixth (.303) and McKee stands at seventh (.277)… McKee leads the team and ranks second in the conference in kills per set at 3.81 while Kaimis ranks seventh (2.58)… Standring leads the CUNYAC in assists per set, averaging 9.31.
TEAM STATISTICS: Baruch leads the CUNYAC in four different statistical categories: hitting percentage (.273), kills per set (11.69), assists per set (10.76) and blocks (1.93).
LAST MEETING: New Paltz and Baruch met last season on Feb. 7, 2013, in a tightly-contested match at the Hawk Center that saw numerous momentum swings… New Paltz came away with a 3-2 victory.
