NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis team prepares to take on non-conference Ithaca College on Saturday, April 12, at 1 p.m. at New Paltz's North Tennis Courts. It marks the Hawks' first home match of the 2014 calendar year.

RECORDS: The Hawks enter Saturday's match with an 11-7 mark, while the Bombers are 12-3.

SCOUTING THE HAWKS (11-7): On Wednesday, April 9, in Hoboken, N.J., New Paltz came back from a 2-1 deficit heading into singles play to defeat the Stevens Institute of Technology by the score of 6-3… The Ducks won 8-3 at flights one and three of doubles, while the Hawks' doubles team of junior Jessica Schmidt and freshman Veronika Paikin prevented a Stevens sweep heading into singles with an 8-3 win at flight two… Senior Paige Munroe, Schmidt, Paikin, sophomore Laura Tierney and sophomore Allie Starke earned wins at flights two through six, respectively, to lead the Hawks to victory.

SCOUTING THE BOMBERS (12-3): The match against the Hawks will be the Bombers' first match since March 14… Ithaca last fell to Missouri Valley College, 5-4, in Hilton Head, S.C… The Bombers held an early lead, but Missouri Valley won three singles matches in a row to clinch the victory.

LAST MEETING: The Hawks won, 6-3, over Ithaca on April 19, 2013 in Ithaca, N.Y… The match recap is shown below.

WHAT'S NEXT: New Paltz next host the four-team New Paltz Tournament, a doubles-only event, on Saturday, April 26… The Bombers travel to Ewing, N.J., on Sunday, April 13 to face The College of New Jersey at 1 p.m.

COACHES: The Hawks are guided by 16th-year head coach Rob Bruley, while Ithaca is led by 14th-year head coach Bill Austin.
