NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's swimming team will travel to Ramapo College in a dual meet on Monday, Jan. 19 at 1 p.m.
RECORDS: The Hawks are 3-0 in dual meets this year after defeating Cortland on Friday, 125-72… Ramapo is 4-1 after defeating Purchase on Saturday.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (3-0): New Paltz won all but one event against Cortland on Friday, and it had six different individuals touch first, including a pair of double event winners in juniors
Cassidy Griger and
Ella Graffin… Griger topped the field in the 200 freestyle (2:00.75) and the 500 freestyle (5:18.64), while Graffin reigned supreme both sprint freestyle events: the 50 (25.99) and the 100 (56.63). Freshman
Megan Joseph won the 200 individual medley (2:17.32), freshman
Molly McCulloch finished first in the 100 butterfly (1:00.45), junior
Casey O'Connor scored first-place points in the 100 backstroke (1:04.82)…Last season against Ramapo, Griger won the 200 free (2:00.61) and the 100 free (55.53)…. Granan placed first in the 100 breast (1:10.82) and 200 breast (2:37.77)…
Kim Kallansrude won the 200 butterfly (2:17.44) and 100 butterfly (1:02.98)… O'Connor placed first in the 200 back (2:21.76).
SCOUTING THE ROADRUNNERS (4-1): Ramapo defeated Purchase 134-57 on Saturday… Junior Victoria Barnes won the 1650 free (20:52.01)… Freshman Caitlyn Bach placed first in the 200 free (2:09.62)…. Freshman Meghan Trewhella won the 50 free (24.61)…. Senior co-captain Lauren Keller won the 500 free (5:29.79)… Last year against New Paltz, Brenda Arthur won the 200 IM in 2:22.29 and placed second in the 100 breast (1:12.92)… Keller placed second in the 50 free (26.08)… Ana Nunez claimed second in the 200 IM (2:36.74)
LAST DUAL MEET: The Hawks defeated the Roadrunners 160-97 when these two teams last met on Nov. 2, 2013.
