Erin Landy (Glenmont, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) scored twice, as the No. 17 State University of New York at New Paltz field hockey team cruised to a 3-0 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) win over The College Brockport on Friday afternoon at the North Turf Field.

Jessica Caruana (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem East) became the program's all-time assist record holder, as she dished out her 26th career helper. Danielle Conklin set the previous record of 25 from 2010-13.
After sluggish play in the early goings, the Hawks eventually found their groove in the first half, scoring all three of their goals before halftime while entering the intermission with a 13-1 advantage in shots. New Paltz finished up the day with a 22-7 shot advantage and a 16-3 edge on penalty corners.
New Paltz rises to 8-2 overall (2-1 SUNYAC) with the win and next hosts SUNY Geneseo tomorrow at 1 p.m. Brockport slips to 1-10 overall (1-2 SUNYAC) with the loss and visits SUNY Oneonta tomorrow for a 1 p.m. contest.
Landy put the Hawks on the board in the 11th minute, burying the ball into the back of the goal off of a rebounded shot. Landy then pushed the tally to 2-0 in the 26th minute, as she cashed in following several rebounds. Finally, in the 30th minute, sophomore forward
Sam Eberle (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) beat the goalkeeper on a perfectly-executed penalty corner, as sophomore midfielder
Hayley Kim (West Hurley, N.Y./Onteora) and Caruana were credited with assists on the play.
Brockport saw an increase in scoring chances in the final 35 minutes of action, but the Hawks' backs and senior goalkeeper
Alayna Wageman (Getzville, N.Y./Williamsville North) preserved the shutout. The Golden Eagles' best chance at a goal came in the 56th minute, but senior back
Sarah Sansone (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown South) came up with a defensive save to keep the visitors off the scoreboard.
Wageman picked up the win in goal for the Hawks with two saves, while Brockport freshman goalkeepers Paula Amo and Sarah Beam turned aside eight and six shots, respectively. Caruana and Sansone each picked up a defensive save for New Paltz, while sophomore midfielder Kelsey Devine came up with one defensive stop for Brockport.
