Colorado Springs, CO — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced its annual Division III all region teams Wednesday with Hawks senior midfielder Meghan Gunning named to her first All-Region III honor, landing on second team.
 
 The NFHCA recognizes a first and second team from six different regions across the country with 190 student-athletes selected. SUNY New Paltz earned a selection on Region III for the 13th straight year with Gunning garnering her first all-region recognition of her career. Gunning was among six others from the SUNYAC with Salisbury University holding the most with four, all on first team.

Gunning transitioned into the center midfield position this past season after spending the last two as the team's outside midfielder and continued to get better as the season waned. She led the team with 1,140 minutes played, while adding a career-high nine points on two goals and five assists, the latter being the second most on the team. She registered a career-high three points in a blowout win over Morrisville Oct. 17 and tallied two assists in a 3-1 win over Oneonta, while adding an assist in the Hawks' SUNYAC semifinal against SUNY Cortland that allowed her team to take a 1-0 lead.
 
The Port Jefferson Station, NY native took home her first All-SUNYAC recognition this past fall as well, landing on first team. She ends her career as an All-Region (2025), All-SUNYAC (2025) and All-Tournament Team (2023) pick, while tallying six goals, 11 assists and 23 points in 61 starts on 64 games played and logging more than 3,000 minutes of action.
