Colorado Springs, CO — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced its Senior All-Star Team selections with Hawks senior forward Rachel Tama becoming the ninth Hawk and fifth-straight from SUNY New Paltz to be featured among the best in the country.
 
Tama joins fellow teammates Morgan Woolley '24, Hannah Ackerman '23 and Natasia Plunkett '22, along with alumnae Jessica Ascencao '21, Justine O'Reilly '17, Megan Gangewere '17, Dani Ackerman '15 and Jessica Caruana '15.
 
The NFHCA selected 60 student-athletes from 46 different Division III institutions to represent some of the best in the country with the recognition highlighting the performances from the most talented seniors in the country, as well as their impact on and off the field, as the NFHCA celebrates their contributions within their sport.
 
Tama ends her career as one of the best to ever suit up for SUNY New Paltz Field Hockey. She was most recently named to her third-straight First-Team All-SUNYAC, becoming just the second Hawk to reach the feat on the heels of what was an All-American selection as a junior. For the third-straight year, she led the team in points (29) while also tallying a team-high 13 assists this past season to go along with eight goals. The Hopewell Junction, NY native started all 19 games and totaled more than 1,000 minutes played.
 
Although there no longer is a physical senior all-star game played, the NFHCA continues to recognize the accolade in an effort to highlight the exceptional field hockey student-athletes across the country.
