Meet ResultsNEW YORK – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's swimming team finished third out of three teams with 307 points following the second and final day of the NYU Fall Invitational on Saturday hosted at New York University's Palladium Athletic Facility.
Host NYU finished atop the team standings with 762 points, while the Stevens Institute of Technology placed second with 682 points.
New Paltz returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 1 p.m. as it hosts Pace University in its final home meet of the 2015 calendar year. The Hawks have two home dual meets slated during the 2016 portion of their schedule.
In relay action, the 200 medley relay comprised of junior
Austin Kowalsky (Bellmore, N.Y./W.C. Mepham) and seniors
Ryan Lindgren (Hurley, N.Y./Kingston),
Ethan Cooke (Middletown, Conn./Middletown) and
Will Koenig (Highland, Calif./Redlands East Valley) placed fifth (1:42.23), the 800 freestyle relay quartet of sophomore
Matthew Kessler (Highland Mills, N.Y./Cornwall Central), junior
Rob Cahn (Bellmore, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) and sophomores
Barrett Celecki (Barneveld, N.Y./Holland Patent) and
Marc Piliero (Peekskill, N.Y./Peekskill) finished fifth (7:38.01) and the 400 freestyle relay squad of Kowalsky, Celecki, Cooke and Koenig took fifth (3:20.13).
Cahn placed among the top 10 in two individual events, finishing sixth in the 1,650 freestyle (17:38.54) and 10th in the 200 freestyle (1:53.89). Celecki boasted the Hawks' highest individual finish of Saturday's sessions, taking fifth in the 1,650 freestyle (17:37.23), while perhaps the team's top swim of the day came from Lindgren, who claimed seventh in the 200 breaststroke (2:17.29) after taking ninth in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.85).

Joe Galante (Newburgh, N.Y./Newburgh Free Academy) finished ninth (4:39.46) and 10th (4:41.99), respectively, in the 400 individual medley, while sophomore
Colin Duell (Glens Falls, N.Y./Glens Falls) took 10th in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.64). Piliero and Koenig placed ninth in the 200 backstroke (2:08.72) and the 100 freestyle (50.12), respectively.
