NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis team will begin its spring season on Monday, March 16, heading to Orlando, Fla. during the College's spring break.
RECORDS: The Hawks are 9-3 overall…Wisconsin-La Crosse is 9-2… William Smith is 0-1… Hamilton is 5-0 overall… Bethel (Minn.) is 2-1 overall.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS: The Hawks finished their fall season with a 9-3 overall record, going 3-0 in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) East Division… After defeating Fredonia and Oneonta in the opening rounds of the SUNYAC Tournament, New Paltz reached the SUNYAC title match for the ninth-straight year against Geneseo, unfortunately falling to the Knights 5-0… At the conclusion of the fall season, eight student-athletes garnered All-SUNYAC accolades… In singles, freshman

SPRING SCHEDULE: Upon returning north, the Hawks travel to Ithaca on Friday, April 3 before hosting Union on Saturday, April 4… New Paltz remains at home to play Stevens on April 8 before traveling to St. Lawrence to play Plattsburgh and the host Saints from April 17-18… On Saturday, April 25 the Hawks will host their annual doubles-only tournament, welcoming Cortland, Oneonta, Plattsburgh and St. Thomas Aquinas to the competition.
SCOUTING WISCONSIN-LA CROSSE: The Eagles are 11-3 overall with a 5-1 mark in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC)… La Crosse finished second of seven teams at the 2014 WIAC Championships, falling to Wisconsin-Whitewater in the title match… Freshman Bridget Bellissimo is 20-3 with a 12-2 mark at flight one singles… Junior Bryanne Blanton is 15-8 with an 11-3 mark in flight three singles… Junior Kimmy Mrozek is 17-5, going 11-3 at flight two singles… Bellissimo and Mrozek are 12-2 at flight one doubles... The Eagles are led by 20
th year head coach Bill Hehli.
SCOUTING WILLIAM SMITH: The Herons are 0-1 this season, falling at Skidmore on Feb. 22… Junior Katarina Kostovic is 3-2 overall in tournament play in singles… Freshman Michaelann Denton is 2-2 in tournament action… Sophomore Hannah More is 2-3… Kostovic and More are 4-1 in doubles action… William Smith is led by 17th year head coach Chip Fishback.
SCOUTING HAMILTON: Hamilton is part of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) and have a 5-0 overall record… During fall competition, the Continentals did not lose a match and played against three different SUNYAC teams and only lost two sets within those victories… Hamilton is currently ranked sixth in the conference before spring and conference play begins…. Hamilton is coached by Rob Barr.
SCOUTING BETHEL: The Royals are currently 5-3 overall with a 3-2 record in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC)… Bethel is led by their number one doubles team, senior Kristin Vivian and senior Abby Kreklau… Vivian is also the number one singles player for the Royals… Freshman Anna Browning is a threat at the number six singles spot with an impressive win over Gustavus Adolphus, marking their first win against them since 1999… Bethel is coached by Drew Fernelius and assisted by Rick Ronning.
