GENESEO, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis team fell, 9-0, to No. 1 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) West team SUNY Geneseo on Friday afternoon.
The Hawks drop to 4-2 and will compete at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Tournament hosted by William Smith College in Geneva, N.Y., Saturday-Monday, Sept. 26-28. Geneseo improves to 5-0 and will also compete at the ITA Tournament.

Brittany Grandville (Tappan, N.Y./Tappan Zee) and
Carol Tyson (Clinton Corners, N.Y./Rhinebeck) fell to Cat Crummey and Marylen Santos, 8-2. Junior
Olivia Ammirati (Huntington, N.Y./Huntington) and senior
Laura Tierney (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston) fell, 8-1, to Mako Tanaka and Mai Hashimoto in flight two. At flight three, senior
Allie Starke (Binghampton, N.Y./Susquehanna Valley) and freshman
Lindsay Haley (Hicksville, N.Y./St. Anthony's) fell at the hands of Maggie Hale and Lauren Salzano, 8-2.
The Knights swept all six flights in singles play to take home the win.
