Box Score RIO PIEDRAS, P.R. – The No. 3 State University of New York at New Paltz men's volleyball team kicked off its 2016 season on Thursday evening, defeating the University of Puerto Rico-Bayamon, 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-21), at the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras.
New Paltz rises to 1-0 overall and takes on host UPR-Rio Piedras tomorrow at 7 p.m.
The Hawks dominated the match, dispatching their Puerto Rican counterpart in straight sets. New Paltz hit at a .534 (38-7-58) clip for the contest and finished with 11 total team blocks.
