NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – Eyeing its first SUNYAC title since 2010, the State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis team is preparing for the 2016 SUNYAC Tournament held at the Binghamton Tennis Center from Saturday-Monday, Oct. 8-10.
The Hawks finished the fall season 4-2 overall with a 3-0 SUNYAC East mark to earn the No. 1 seed in the East in the bracket. New Paltz takes on SUNY Oswego (No. 4 West) in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
The winner of that match will advance to the semifinals play either SUNY Fredonia (No. 2 West) or SUNY Plattsburgh (No. 3 East) on Sunday at 12 p.m. The championship match will be played on Monday, Oct. 10 at 10 a.m.
In his 19
th season, head coach
Rob Bruley is looking for his fifth SUNYAC title (2010, 2007, 2006, 2002) as the Hawks have finished runner-up to SUNY Geneseo for the past five seasons.

Senior
Olivia Ammirati (Huntington, NY/Huntington) is 4-1 at flight one this season, including a 2-0 mark in conference. Junior
Brittany Grandville (Tappan, NY/Tappan Zee) is 4-1 at flight two, going 3-0 in SUNYAC play.
Ammirati is 4-1 so far this year, going 2-0 in SUNYAC action.
Junior
Carol Tyson (Clinton Corners, NY/Rhinebeck) is 4-1 at flight three, with a 3-0 SUNYAC record while junior
Emi Lewis (New York City, NY/NYC Lab School) is 3-2 overall at flight four (3-0 SUNYAC).
Sophomore
Lindsay Haley (Hicksville, NY/St. Anthony's) is 4-1 at number five (3-0 SUNYAC) while freshman
Jessica Reich (Edgewater, NJ/Leonia) is 3-2 at flight six, going 2-1 in conference action.

Grandville and Tyson are 4-2 at flight one doubles while Ammirati and Lewis are 3-2 at flight two. Haley and freshman
