GENESEO, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's swimming team earned 329 points to finish second out of five teams at the Geneseo Invitational held in Alumni Pool.
SUNY Geneseo earned first-place with 653 points while Buffalo State finished third with 234 points. Alfred State (161 points) and Monroe Community College (144) rounded out the field.
The Hawks will conclude their regular season when they host Maritime in a dual meet on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. in Elting Pool, which will serve as the final tune-up for the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships that will be held from Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 16-18 in Buffalo, N.Y.
Junior
Barrett Celecki (Barneveld, N.Y./Holland Patent) took second-place in the 1,000 freestyle (10:28.46), while senior
Jeffrey Pietkiewicz (Freemont, Calif./Irvington) also earned second-place points in the 50 freestyle (22.11) and the 100 butterfly (54.40) and swam on the second leg of the 200 freestyle relay, which placed fourth with a time of 1:30.27.

Konstantin Lomeyko (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xavieran) in the 200 butterfly (2:04.29, fourth), junior
Caleb Treadwell (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) in the 100 butterfly (56.11, fourth) and junior Marc Pilero (Peekskill, N.Y./Peekskill) in the 200 individual medley (2:07.38, sixth).
