NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – Playing its first contest at home this spring, the women's tennis team at the State University of New York at New Paltz defeated visiting Stevens 7-2 in non-conference action at North Tennis Courts on Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, the Hawks improve to 9-6 overall and will host Union on Saturday, April 8 at 10 a.m. The Ducks, meanwhile, conclude their season at 9-6.

Olivia Ammirati (Huntington, N.Y./Huntington) enjoyed an 8-3 win at flight two. Sophomore
Lindsay Haley (Hicksville, N.Y./St. Anthony's) and freshman
Victoria Zezula (Ridgewood, N.Y./The Mary Louis Academy) earned an 8-2 victory at flight three.
In singles competition, Ammirati earned a 6-3, 7-6 win at flight one while Grandville picked up a 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 win at flight two. Junior
Carol Tyson (Clinton Corners, N.Y./Rhinebeck) won at flight three, 6-0, 6-1, and junior
Emi Lewis (New York City, N.Y./NYC Lab School) enjoyed a 6-2, 6-2 win at flight four.
Haley wrapped up the wins for New Paltz at flight five with a 6-2, 6-0 win.
