The State University of New York at New Paltz field hockey team is coming off two losses at home and is looking to get back in the win column Saturday when it faces Morrisville State on the road.

The Hawks (8-5 overall, 2-1 SUNYAC) resume State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action against the Mustangs (1-12, 0-4), who have yet to win a game in conference. In fact, Morrisville is looking for its first SUNYAC victory since 2010.

SUNY New Paltz lost two-in-a-row for just the second time this season after succumbing to a 3-1 loss against No. 11 Kean Tuesday and a 3-2 defeat against the Knights Oct. 12. The Hawks hope to regroup over a Mustangs team they have dominated in the past, winning nine-straight matchups to a score of 56-4.

"We really reviewed film, gone over our plays and everything and really just working on basic skills again to get back to where we are," said Hawks sophomore midfielder
Courtney Kruzikas. "Really focusing on what we need to do to achieve and really reach our goals."Â

Morrisville's only win of 2019 came Oct. 12 against Wells College, 8-0, but have lost four-straight since. In its four conference games, the Mustangs have totaled four goals, while allowing 24 against. Thus far this season, they have averaged 1.54 goals per game, while yielding 5.54 against.

Sophomore midfielder Grace Hanehan paces Morrisville with seven goals and nine assists on the year to lead her team in goals, assists and points (23). Freshman forward Erica Sciallo follows offensively with four goals through 13 starts.

Sophomore goalie Morgan Dueber has started all 13 games thus far for the Mustangs, totaling 191 saves on 336 shots faced for a .737 save percentage.

Mackenzie Mortimer in seven starts has totaled 47 saves on 65 shots against, allowing 11 goals for a 2.19 goals against average and a .810 save percentage.
"It is very important for us," Kruzikas said of her team playing well Saturday. "There's a lot standing, just being able to know that we can play our game and stay within ourselves, and really prove that loss isn't anything to us, so we can keep moving forward."
