Syracuse, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) released its weekly awards Tuesday with Hawks junior
Onalee Batcheller earning SUNYAC/PrestoSports Tennis Singles Athlete of the Week honors.
The weekly honor adds to a long list of accolades Batcheller currently holds, including SUNYAC Rookie of the Year for 2019-20, Second-Team All-SUNYAC in 2019-20, and SUNYAC Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll for both 2019-20 and 2020-21.
Batcheller has helped SUNY New Paltz remain undefeated early in their season, sitting at 2-0 after opening weekend. Opening the season against SUNY Cortland Friday, Batcheller and doubles partner
Alexandra Dratch took an 8-3 win at second doubles. Batcheller then went on to put up a 6-0,6-0 win in third singles. Batcheller continued her hot streak against Oswego State on Saturday, as her and Dratch took an 8-0 sweep in doubles, as well as a 6-0, 6-2 win at third singles, helping to lead the Hawks to yet another 9-0 sweep over a SUNYAC rival.
Batcheller and the Hawks are back in action on Wednesday when they visit The College of New Jersey in Ewing, New Jersey.
