LANSING, MI — The State University of New York at New Paltz cross country team's Kate Cochran traveled to the Great Lakes' region for the NCAA National Championship hosted by Olivet College.
The championship race was held at Forest Akers Golf Course on the campus of Michigan State University. The course is Michigan State's home course and has hosted numerous Big 10 Championships races at the division one level. The cold, ice, and snow made for challenging conditions. Senior Kate Cochran placed 110th overall with a time of 23:31.8 on the 6K racecourse. Just the sixth ever Hawk, and fifth women to earn a nationals bid, her placing is tied for third highest in program history in the DIII Championship race.Â
