The United Volleyball Conference released its weekly awards Monday with State University of New York at New Paltz freshman outside hitter
Carter Lotz earning his first UVC Rookie of the Week honor after setting career-high's this past week.
Lotz, from Port Washington, NY, led the Hawks to a 3-0 sweep over Bard College Wednesday to secure his team their first UVC win of the season. Lotz, earning his first start of his career, delivered with a career- and game-high 10 kills on 13 attempts to hit .692 on the day, while adding a career-best three aces and two blocks to go along with five digs and a team-leading 14 points in the victory.
Lotz becomes the first Hawk to earn UVC Rookie of the Week since
Matthew Grace earned the accolade as a freshman in 2017.
