The State University of New York at New Paltz swimming team opens up the 2022 SUNYAC Championships Wednesday in Buffalo, NY at the Burt Flickinger Aquatic Center at Erie Community College.

The Hawks are looking to pull off top two team outings on both the men's and women's sides with the program coming off good swims in their last dual meet of the season Feb. 5 against SUNY Oneonta.

The championships will begin Wednesday with the men's and women's 800 freestyle relay at 6 p.m. and will resume Thursday with prelims of the 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley and 50 freestyle starting up in the morning before finals of each event will take place at 5:30 p.m. later on in the day.

Friday begins at 10 a.m. with preliminary swims for the 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and 100 backstroke with finals starting at 5:30 p.m. begining with the 200 medley relay. Saturday morning will hold prelims for the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke and 200 butterfly before the finals of the 1,650 freestyle kicks off the last events of the championship with the 400 freestyle relay concluding the night.

The last time SUNYAC's was held in 2020, SUNY New Paltz placed fourth on the men's side and third on the women's with the Hawks looking to best those places this week.
