The United Volleyball Conference released its weekly awards Monday with State University of New York at New Paltz junior middle blocker
Pat Wing earning his first UVC Player of the Week selection after helping the Hawks to a sweep of No. 13 St. John Fisher.

Wing, a Massapequa, NY native, led SUNY New Paltz offensively against the Cardinals with 15 kills on 19 attempts to hit at an efficient .684 clip. Wing also added three total blocks — one solo — an ace and four digs to his stat line. He also tallied every single one of the Hawks' set points, including kills to win the first and third, and an ace to solidify the second to aid in the 3-0 victory in the Hawk Center Saturday.
Wing is the first UVC Player of the Week selection since
Matthew Grace last season. He becomes the second Hawk to be honored for a weekly award this season, however, as teammate
Carter Lotz was awarded the UVC Rookie of the Week Feb. 14.
SUNY New Paltz is back in action Wednesday when it hosts the Milwaukee School of Engineering and Russell Sage in the Hawk Center at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively.
