Poughkeepsie, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz competed at the Ron Stonitsch Invitational Saturday with the women finishing third and the men seventh against 10 total teams.
Kate Cochran was the lead runner on either side, as the senior placed second overall with a time of 19 minutes, 23.4 seconds in the 5K race only behind hosting Vassar's Augusta Stockman who clocked in at 19:14.
Clara Flores-Reininger followed Cochran in ninth with a time of 20:18.8 with freshman
Lillian Stephenson also earning a spot in the top-20 after crossing in 21:11.9.
Emily Gonzalez placed 36th, while
Hunter Larson,
Allison English and
Crystal Rustami crossed together 44th through 47th, all with sub-23-minute times.
Evan Labelle was the fastest Hawk on the men's side, as the freshman clocked in at 20:35.4 for 23rd overall in the 6K race.
Hans Hilson-Schneider placed in the top-50 with a time of 21:47.3. He was followed by
Gavin Bowers (56th, 22:26.5) and
Vincent Mandraccia (69th, 23:03.1).

SUNY New Paltz is back in action Saturday, hosting its lone race of the season at the Hudson Valley Sportsplex for their first 8K and 6K race of 2022. The men's side is set to go off at 4 p.m. with the women following at 5 p.m.
