New Paltz, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz men's volleyball team swept weekly United Volleyball Conference honors for the second time this season.
 
Krish Jain, a Hicksville, NY native, earned his third selection as UVC Rookie of Week, while Pat Wing (Massapequa, NY) was named as the Co-Player of the Week as the two led the Hawks to two wins Saturday against Elmira and Kean University.
 
Jain hit above .400 in all three matches played this past week. Appearing in all five sets against No. 5 Springfield Thursday, the 6-foot, 6-inch middle posted seven kills on 12 attempts with one ace and four blocks. He hit a perfect 7-for-7 in a sweep over Elmira Saturday afternoon, adding four blocks and two aces. Only playing in four sets against Kean, Jain produced five kills on seven attempts with an assist and a team-high five blocks.
 
Wing led the offense all week for SUNY New Paltz, posting two 20-kill outings in the team's three-game slate. He totaled a team-high 22 kills on 49 attempts against the Pride, hitting .306 in the five-set match with an ace, eight digs and three blocks. In three sets against the Soaring Eagles, he led the team with 11 kills on 18 attempts with an ace, four digs and three blocks. Despite playing just four sets in a five-set win over the Cougars, Wing finished with a team-best 20 kills on 37 attempts, hitting .432 with three aces, five digs and four blocks.
