Box Score New Paltz, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis team played host to the New Paltz Tournament on the North Tennis Courts. The tournament features the host Hawks as well as SUNY Cortland, Hartwick College, and SUNY Farmingdale. Today's match was senior day honoring New Paltz' lone senior, Onalee Batcheller. Batcheller has played for the hawks since the fall of 2019 and served as captain during the current season.
"Today's tournament was a great opportunity for the visiting teams of Cortland, Farmingdale and Hartwick to prepare for conference championships for Cortland and New Paltz and for Farmingdale and Hartwick, both fall conference championship winners to prepare for their upcoming NCAA championships," said Coach Rob Bruley. "In a flighted tournament each player plays one set singles to 6 games for both singles and doubles. In the singles matches New Paltz went 13-3 and in the doubles New Paltz went 7-1. Another great day's tennis both in the singles and doubles competitions. As we prepare for our upcoming conference semifinals it's important, we keep up the intensity of practice and bring the same intensity during our remaining two matches."
