Box Score Binghamton, NY – The State University of New York at New Paltz swept the Oswego State Lakers Friday putting the Hawks at an overall season record to 5-0. The Hawks strive to keep this streak alive Saturday in their final match up of the fall season in Binghamton against Cortland State, securing a high seed heading into the spring season.

Sydney Sladicka and Angelica Gabriel earned their win with a 6-1 set. Olivia Kunz and Nina Genzone battled on the court and earned the final doubles win of the day. The women won their first set in a tight 7-6, leading them into a second set where they emerged victorious with a final of 10-8.

Singles Matches: In addition to the doubles matches, the Hawks swept the singles for the second time this week in Binghamton. Stanejko earned a win with a 5-0 first set, ending the match there due to an injury on the Lakers side of the court. Van der Veen joins Stanejko in not having dropped a singles game in Binghamton by winning both of her sets with a clean 6-0.

Sladicka won her match by going 6-0 in her first game and 6-1 in the second, locking up another Hawks win.

Amirah Alston went 7-5 in her first set. Alston continued the battle in the second set going 6-3, earning the win. Kunz won her match as well, going 6-1 in the first set and 6-0 in the second.

Gabriel locked up the win finishing her match with a 6-3 first set followed by a perfect 6-0 to end the second day in Binghamton.

"I'm very proud of the way we handled an undefeated Oswego team" said head coach Rob Burley. "A lightning start from our number 1 and 2 doubles team clinched the doubles point for us. This was closely followed by an outstanding 3 doubles win in a hard-fought tiebreaker! We continued this momentum in the singles where we dominated all matches 1 to 6. We can't wait to conclude pool tomorrow vs Cortland!"

The Hawks return to the court in Binghamton Saturday for their final game of the fall season against the Cortland Red Dragons.
