New Paltz, NY — The United Volleyball Conference announced its weekly awards Monday with Hawks senior
Pat Wing being named as the UVC Co-Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Earning the same accolade Feb. 26, Wing was the catalyst in an upset victory over No. 4 Springfield March 6. It was the first win over the Pride on their home court since the 2016 season. Wing led the way with a game-high 19 kills and 22.5 points, while hitting .261 on 46 attempts with one assist a game-high three aces, a block and four digs.
He posted a team-high 17 kills while hitting .333 against No. 14 Hobart and added one assist, one ace, a solo block and six digs. In a four-set UVC win the following afternoon against Elmira, Wing totaled a game-high 25 kills off 45 attempts (.444), an ace, a block and five digs for a game-high 26.5 points.
SUNY New Paltz (15-9 overall, 1-2 UVC) are back in action Friday when they face St. Joseph's-Long Island in the Hawk Center at 7 p.m.
