Lexington, KY — For the third-straight year in his prolific Hawks career, State University of New York at New Paltz senior opposite
Pat Wing was named an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American.
The AVCA announced its 2024 All-American selections Monday with Wing earning his second First-Team All-American selection, becoming just the fifth Hawk in program history to earn multiple first-team national recognitions, joining alums Steven Woessner (2016 & 2017), Christopher Husmann (2015 & 2016), Christian Smith (2015 & 2016) and Tim Ferriter (2013 & 2014), while joining just Matthew Grace '21, Smith '16 and Woessner '17 as three-time honorees.
Wing concluded his four-plus SUNY New Paltz career with one of his best seasons. He proved once again as one of the best in the country, finishing sixth in the country in points per set and fourth in kills per set, while finishing eighth in total kills despite missing the last three matches due to a season-ending ankle injury.

One of his best games of the season came against No. 12 ranked NYU, as he stymied a comeback for the Hawks as the team looked to keep its playoff hopes alive. Wing rallied the Hawks from two sets down to force a deciding fifth set after totaling 23 kills on 43 attempts, hitting a staggering .442 with an ace and two digs with 24.5 points before suffering an injury that forced him to sit out the final set to help finalize the comeback.
