WOMENS RESULTS:
Annandale-On-Hudson, NY – The State University of New York New Paltz cross country program competed in the Fred Pavlich Invitational Saturday, hosted by Bard College. The men and women swept the competition, both earning first place. The women ran a 6k and finished with a score of 27 points. The Men ran an 8k and finished with 22 points.
Marcella Candlin soared across the finish line first for the Hawks in a battle for first. Landing second, Candlin finished with a time of 24:32.9, 0.2 second behind the first-place finisher from SUNY Cobleskill.
Lillian Stephenson was the second for SUNY New Paltz to cross the finish line, finishing third with a time of 25:24.4.
Mackenzie Barcomb and
Orquidea Briceno crossed the finish line in fifth and sixth place for the Blue and Orange, respectively. Barcomb clocked in with a time of 25:38.4 followed by Briceno with a new personal best time of 25:48.8.
Crystal Rustami finished in 11th place with a time of 26:15.3.
Jazmyne Daily-Simpson finished close behind Rustami with a time of 26:33.2 earning 13th and a new personal best time.
Allison English and
Mikayla Cecora finished hand in hand, earning 16th and 17th respectively. English earned a time of 27:15.0 followed by Cecora with a time of 27:15.4.
Hunter Larson was the final Hawk to break the top 25 earning 20th placed with a time of 27:45.5.

On the men's course SUNY New Paltz earned the top four finishing times.
Oliver Melara-Perez finished with a time of 27:32.7, followed by
Evan Miller in 2nd with a time of 27:33.2 which was good enough for a new personal best.
Gavin Bowers was the next Hawk to fly across the line with a time of 28:08.6.
Vincent Mandracchia finished fourth with a time of 28:22.8.
Another flock of Hawks landed in 13th to 15th place.
Brandon Gardner,
Aiden Hesseltine and
Joe Palazzolo were the next for SUNY New Paltz to finish the race. Gardner finished with a time of 29:50.4. Hesseltine crossed the line with a time of 30:15.0 for a new personal best, followed by Palazzolo with a 30:27.6 final time.
Anthony Willis finished in 21st place with a time of 32:07.0.
The Hawks will return to the course on Oct. 19th at the Rowan Interregional Border Battle in Logan Township, NJ.
