Syracuse, NY — For the second straight season, State University of New York New Paltz standout forward Rachel Eisert was voted as the SUNYAC Women's Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year.
 
The SUNYAC Scholar Athlete of the Year award honors student-athletes in each respective sport for their prowess both in the classroom and on the field. To be eligible, student-athletes must sustain at least a 3.30 GPA and demonstrate academic and athletic excellence, must be a starter or significant reserve player and at least a sophomore in standing.
 
Eisert is the embodiment of the award, as she finished her career as one of the best in the country, being named Second Team United Soccer Coaches All-American — just the second selection in program history — before also garnering USC Academic All-American honors following a near perfect GPA as a communication disorders major.
 
The Bellmore, NY native capped a decorated career and cemented herself as the best to ever suit up for the Hawks women's soccer program after leading the team to a SUNYAC Championship title in a SUNYAC Offensive Player of the Year performance, which marked her second straight year to earn the honor. Additionally, she leaves as a two-time SUNYAC Scholar Athlete of the Year, two-time Scholar All-America, two-time SUNYAC Player of the Year, four-time All-SUNYAC selection and three-time All-Region select. She holds single season and program records in goals and points, while holding the all-time assist record for SUNY New Paltz as well.
 
Eisert was the first Hawks women's soccer athlete to earn SUNYAC Scholar Athlete of the Year award since its inception in 2016 and now becomes just the sixth athlete in SUNYAC history to earn the award multiple times.
