Brad Bolton Named SUNY New Paltz Women’s Soccer Head Coach

Former Manhattan College assistant becomes seventh head coach for Hawks women’s soccer program

New Paltz, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz has named Brad Bolton as the head coach of the women's soccer program beginning this spring, ahead of the fall 2026 season.

"We are thrilled to welcome Brad to the Hawks family," said SUNY New Paltz Director of Athletics, Wellness & Recreation Renee Bostic. "He brings a diverse breadth of experience and passion for the game to the positions. We are excited to see our program grow under his leadership."

Bolton ascends to the helm of the program following the team's 2025 season where, under the guidance of interim head coach Samantha Trimblett, the Hawks went 7-4-6 overall and 3-1-5 in conference before falling to the Buffalo State Bengals 3-1 in the SUNYAC Quarterfinal round.

"I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to join SUNY New Paltz and to lead the women's soccer program," said Bolton. "I especially want to thank Renee Bostic, Brian Williams for trusting me with the future of program."

Before coming on board at SUNY New Paltz, Bolton worked his last seven years coaching at Manhattan College, where he acted as the Associate Head Coach for the Jasper's women's soccer program. He also boasts coaching stints at Yale University, Iona University, Concordia College and Central Methodist University.

From 2012-2015, Bolton garnered experience on the semi-professional pitch as the assistant coach for the United Premier Soccer League's New York Magic. With the Magic, Bolton coached four All-Northeastern Conference Selections, a Goalkeeper of the Year Nominee and had three players that went on to sign professional contracts.

Bolton also has more than 10 years of club coaching experience with programs such as the New York Rush Patriots, Quickstrike FC, and most recently, Monroe Woodbury United FC.

Bolton graduated from Central Methodist University in 2005 with a Bachelor's in of Science in Biology. He also holds a Master's of Science in Organizational Leadership with Distinguished Honors from Colorado State Global.

"I am eager to begin working with our student-athletes and to establish the standards, expectations, and vision that will shape our program moving forward," Bolton said. "Our focus will be on daily preparation, competition, consistency, and creating an environment that allows our players to grow and succeed at the highest level."

Bolton and the Hawks return to the field for their non-traditional spring season as they prep for their fall 2026 campaign in the team's first season competing in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC), as SUNY New Paltz will transition out of the SUNYAC and into the NJAC ahead of the 2026-2027 academic year.
