The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its annual All-SUNYAC men's soccer team Friday with three SUNY New Paltz players selected to the all-star squad.
The three selections are the final players from SUNY New Paltz to be named to the All-SUNYAC team, as the Hawks will be moving on to the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) beginning in Fall 2026. Since Gordon Kranjna was named the first Hawk to the conference all-star team in 1961, a total of 139 players have earned All-SUNYAC honors for SUNY New Paltz.
The 2025 season marks the fifth consecutive winning season for the Hawks with head coach
Kyle Clancy tying legendary coach Al Miller's five straight winning season from 1962 through 1966. With the team's 10-4-4 overall mark and 5-2-2 finish in the SUNYAC, which garnered SUNY New Paltz a No. 4 seed in the SUNYAC Tournament, the Hawks were awarded three selections to the 2025 All-SUNYAC Team. Highlighting is senior midfielder co-captain
Alex Wyant who earned his second All-SUNYAC honor, landing on first team. Featured on third team were senior forward
Colin Brant and junior defender and co-captain
Samuel Snider.

First Team All-SUNYAC
Alex Wyant (senior/midfield)
Beacon, NY/Beacon HS
Wyant has been the cornerstone of the Hawks' program for the last two years and ends his career with SUNY New Paltz with his best season to date and as a result, he earned his second consecutive All-SUNYAC honor and first on first team.
The co-captain moved up from a second team selection last season where he was also honored as an All-Region fourth team pick by the United Soccer Coaches, to earning First-Team All-SUNYAC honors, just one of four midfielders to make the list in 2025.
The Beacon, NY native led SUNY New Paltz this season in scoring, registering eight goals and five assists, for 21 points. Two of his goals were game winners with none bigger than his lone goal in a 1-0 regular season road win over Oneonta with his team playing man-down which helped the Hawks to a home postseason game later on in the year. Four of his team-leading eight goals were scored in SUNYAC play, including three-straight games with a goal, which came in a tie against Buffalo State and wins over Oneonta and Canton, while 11 of his 21 points were against conference competition.
Wyant started 15 of 16 regular season games with 1,204 minutes on the pitch. In SUNYAC play, Wyant started all nine games with 717 minutes of playing time, scoring four goals, two game winners, along with three assists for 11 points. His two game-winners came against SUNY Morrisville and the Red Dragons.
What doesn't make the stat sheet, however, is Wyant's impact in the middle of the field facilitating everything the Hawks want to do on the offensive end. One of the most skilled center midfielders in the league, Wyant is incredibly technical when on the ball and can pick apart defenses with his vision and savviness. He was critical in the Hawks' ability to connect from the back to the offensive end, as the team often times worked through Wyant. He made his club better every time he was on the pitch and played some of his most crucial minutes in SUNYAC play. Although the stats don't necessarily back the sentiment, Wyant leaves as one of the best midfielders to go through coach
Kyle Clancy's program.
Wyant ends his career with SUNY New Paltz with15 goals, seven assists for 37 points, while never missing a match in 68 games played with 52 starts.
Third Team All-SUNYAC
Colin Brant (senior, forward)
Latham, NY/Shaker HS
Brant had a career year as well for the Hawks, as he quietly became the most reliable and efficient forwards for the Hawks in 2025.
The Latham, NY native finished second on the team in goals with five and third in points (12), leading all of the team's strikers. As a result, the senior enjoyed his first ever All-SUNYAC recognition, earning third team honors.
Brant started 12 of 17 regular season games, with 905 playing minutes. Against SUNYAC competition, he started all nine games with 558 minutes on the field, scoring three goals with two assists for eight points. His most productive game came in a 5-0 rout of Canton where he registered three points on a goal and an assist.
The senior worked his way into the starting lineup, utilizing his speed and physicality up top to beat defenders and became a good finisher as he posted career numbers in goals, assists and points in his final season with the Hawks. He had the team's lone goal against Plattsburgh, which initially gave SUNY New Paltz a 1-0 lead, but maybe his biggest point came on an assist in the 86th minute that led to an
Alex Wyant score, which helped the Hawks walk out of Buffalo with a point in the eventual 1-1 tie.
Brant ends his collegiate career with 18 points on six goals and six assists in 61 games played and 25 starts.
Samuel Snider (junior, defense)
Oceanside, NY/Oceanside HS
Snider has been one of the best left backs in the SUNYAC since stepping foot onto coach
Kyle Clancy's program in 2023 and the junior co-captain finally was recognized with his efforts on the field as he earned his first All-SUNYAC recognition, landing on third team.
Defense was the hallmark of the 2025 Hawks and Snider was the leader of the pack. The Oceanside, NY native started 17 of 17 games and totaled 1,330 minutes patrolling the last third of the pitch. His minutes played were the most on the team, as he finished with 1,420 which included one of his 12 90-minute outings in the team's postseason quarterfinal against Oneonta Nov. 1. He registered one assist on the season, which came in an exciting come-from-behind 3-3 tie on the road over Vassar.
A technically sound defender, Snider rarely lost composure. Calm and confident on the ball, he virtually won every 1-v-1 matchup. Snider was immediately inserted into the lineup since his freshman season, showing obvious leadership on the field and was rewarded with the captain's badge in his third year, which finished as his best to-date.
SUNY New Paltz's defense gave up just 13 goals in regular season play with a 0.76-goals-against average. The team allowed only 48 shots on goal, for a meager 0.390 shots-on-goal percentage with Snider and his mates yielding only 56 corner kicks, while leading the Hawks to eight clean sheets.
In regular season SUNYAC play, Snider saw action in 679 playing minutes, starting all nine conference games. In those nine SUNYAC games, Snider led the defense, allowing just seven goals for a 0.78 goals-against-average and holding opponents to just 25 shots on goals for a .352 shots-on-goal percentage, allowing 33 corner kicks and recording four SUYAC shutouts.
On the year, Snider registered four shots, one of which hit the cross bar during SUNY New Paltz's quarterfinal match against visiting Oneonta. He played clean defensively, not booked once through 17 games and was called on just eight fouls total.
