New Paltz, NY — The United Soccer Coaches Association announced its annual All-Region honorees Tuesday with Hawks senior midfielder Alex Wyant named to the All-Region III First Team.
 
Wyant had a career season in his final stint with the Hawks this past season, as the co-captain led his team to a No. 4 seed in the SUNYAC Tournament after finishing the year 10-4-4 overall and 5-2-2 in the SUNYAC.
 
The Beacon, NY native joins just two others: Kevin Doorley (2018) and Malcolm Gatherer (1999) to claim All-Region III First-Team honors, as he nabs his second-straight on the all-region list following a fourth-team selection last season.
 
Wyant was named as a First-Team All-SUNYAC select this past season, his second-straight, after registering a team-leading 21 points on eight goals and five assists on the year with two game-winning goals. He tallied 32 shots after appearing in 17 games for SUNY New Paltz with 16 starts, clocking 1,294 minutes of action including logging 90 minutes in five matches on the year. Arguably, his biggest goal came in a 1-0 regular season road win over SUNY Oneonta with his team playing man-down, which helped the Hawks host a postseason game for the first time since 2022.
 
Wyant was joined on first team by 11 others with only two other midfielders making the list. Fellow SUNYAC counterparts Jordan Ott (SUNY Cortland), Dylan Pederson (SUNY Cortland), Zachary Rabadi (SUNY Oneonta) and Diego Rivera (Buffalo State) also earned a spot on first team. Cortland and Buffalo State earned the most selections with five each on either first, second, third or fourth team. It was the seventh straight year SUNY New Paltz earned an all-region accolade.
