New Paltz, NY — For the second straight week and fourth time this season, State University of New York New Paltz freshman outside hitter
Nikko Tenedorio was named as the United Volleyball Conference Rookie of the Week.
The Bay Shore, NY native was vital in the Hawks' five-set victory over No. 9 Vassar last Wednesday, as Tenedorio posted a career-high 27 points in the win. He led all hitters with 23 kills on 45 attempts, while swinging for a productive .356 average. Tenedorio also tallied a team-high two aces, added three blocks and was second on the team with 11 digs.
He was named alongside Nazareth senior middle blocker Andrew Bodensteiner who was selected as the UVC Player of the Week.
