New Paltz, NY — The United Volleyball Conference announced its All-Academic List for the 2025 season with the State University of New York New Paltz earning UVC All-Academic Team honors with five Hawks named to the individual UVC All-Academic list.
Juniors
Mike Handell,
Krish Jain,
Matt Kudlinski and sophomores
Geoff Ndoria and
Michael Spiegel joined 66 others from the conference's eight full time members to earn a spot on this year's UVC All-Academic list, while as a program, SUNY New Paltz landed fifth on the All-Academic Team standings with a cumulative GPA of 3.30.
All five Hawks played a crucial role in a bounce back season for the Hawks, which earned the No. 5 seed in the United Volleyball Conference after missing out on postseason play in 2024. They went on to upset No. 4 seed St. John Fisher to cement their first UVC semifinal appearance since 2022. SUNY New Paltz ultimately fell to undefeated and No. 1 nationally ranked NYU to end the year at 14-14 overall.
Jain and Handell each earn back-to-back nods to the All-Academic list, while Ndoria and Spiegel are first time recipients in their first year of eligibility. Honorees must have sustained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 following the completion of the most recent spring semester, along with being at least a sophomore academically.
