New Paltz, NY — The State University of New York New Paltz officially released its 2025-26 schedule Thursday with the Hawks eying its fourth-straight title and last in the SUNYAC ahead of the final year in the league.
SUNY New Paltz starts its four-peat campaign with an exhibition tournament at home Aug. 30 against Cortland, Oneonta and Hartwick on the North Tennis Courts beginning at 10 a.m. The Hawks then officially start their season at the Union Tournament Sept. 6-7 before going on the road for five consecutive road matches, including dual matches against Manhattanville, Plattsburgh, Cortland and Fredonia, along with competing in the annual Vassar Scramble mixed in on Sept. 14 starting at 9 a.m.
The Hawks went undefeated in regular season SUNYAC play for the last eight years, losing just once in that span to a conference opponent including the postseason and since then has won three-straight SUNYAC titles. The journey begins for the final time Sept. 13 as they travel to Plattsburgh to take on the Cardinals at 1 p.m. They then resume SUNYAC play at Cortland, competing against the Red Dragons Sept. 19 at 3 p.m. before facing Fredonia on the Red Dragons home court the following afternoon on Sept. 20 at 1 p.m.
SUNY New Paltz returns home for three-game slate, starting with RPI Sept. 24 at 3:30 p.m. before taking on Oneonta and Oswego Sept. 26-27, respectively, on the North Tennis Courts. The Hawks' annual dual match against the Engineers was canceled last season due to weather and of the two team's 19 matches played, RPI has the advantage in the series, 9-10 with SUNY New Paltz's last victory coming in 2011. The Hawks, meanwhile, have dropped only a single point against the Oneonta Red Dragons and Oswego Lakers combined since 2023.
The last match of the fall comes on the road against Bard Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. before SUNY New Paltz resumes play in 2026, starting with Ithaca Match 28 in Ithaca, NY. The Hawks have their annual spring break trip in Florida set for March 30-April3 before coming back to play Division II St. Thomas Aquanis April 4. They then scheduled three more dual matches and a home Tournament to prepare for the SUNYAC Tournament, hosting Union April 7 before traveling to face Stevens and The College of New Jersey April 7-8. SUNY New Paltz last regular season contest is set for April 18 on North Tennis Courts with the postseason, as of now, scheduled to start with conference tournament April 24-25 at the Binghamton Tennis Center.
The first round of the NCAA Tournament is set for May 10.
