Poughkeepsie, NY – The SUNY New Paltz Tennis program competed at the Vassar Scramble on Sunday.
First Match vs. Smith,
Doubles: Justine Stanejko and
Sam Ostrander lost their first doubles match of the day 7-6 in a 4-0 tie breaker.
Olivia Kunz and
Patrycja Filonik won their match 6-3.
Nina Genzone and
Angelica Gabriel played third doubles and fell 6-1.
Singles: The Hawks swept singles winning all six matches. Stanejko and
Sydney Sladicka both won their matches 6-2. Ostrander and Filonik both won 6-1.
Lula Brown-Vann won 6-0 and
Alex Krol won 7-6.
Second Match vs. Marist, Doubles: Stanejko and Ostrander went 0-2 on the day falling 6-2 in their second doubles match. Kunz and Filonik fell 6-0, Genzone and Gabriel fell 6-2 and Brown-Vann and Sladicka fell 6-3.
Singles: Ostrander and Brown-Vann were the only two Hawks to win a match against the Foxes. Ostrander won 7-5 and Brown-Vann won 6-2.
Stanejko fell 6-4 to the Foxes and Sladicka fell 6-3. Both Filonik and Gabriel fell 6-1. Kunz fell 6-0 and Krol lost 6-2.
The Hawks will be back on the court's Friday at Cortland.
