Schenectady, NY – The State University of New York New Paltz women's tennis team competed in the second day of the Union College tournament Sunday.
Singles Matches — Sam Ostrander represented the Hawks in the Flight A Final Sunday morning. Ostrander lost the first set 6-3 and battled but fell in the second 7-5.
Sydney Sladicka did not compete today, forfeiting the consolation final of Flight B.
Lula Brown-Vann and
Alex Krol competed in the final for Flight C. Brown-Vann retired and Krol won 6-3.
Angelica Gabriel won her first match of the day 8-7 in a 7-4 tiebreaker. She went on to the final for Flight D and won 8-6.
Olivia Kunz and
Nina Genzone competed in the north semifinals for Flight D. Genzone fell 8-6 and Kunz won 8-1. Kunz went on to win the north final 8-3.
Doubles Matches – Kunz and
Patrycja Filonik fell 8-3 in the semifinal round of the Flight A doubles. Stanejko and Ostrander also won their semifinal 8-3 but fell 8-3 in the final against St. Lawrence.
Genzone and Gabriel won their semifinal match in the Flight B consolation bracket 8-3. They fell 8-6 in the final. Krol and Brown-Vann forfeited their Flight B semifinal.

The Hawks are back in action Sept. 10
