New Paltz, NY — The United Volleyball Conference released its weekly player of the week winners with Hawks junior opposite
Michael Spiegel named to his first career UVC Player of the Week honor.
Spiegel was the catalyst in a dominant week for the Hawks. In a 3-0 sweep over UVC rival Vassar, Spiegel led all hitters with 14 kills on 20 attempts, hitting .500 on the night, while adding two aces, a block and a team-leading nine digs for a game-high 16.5 points.
In a four-set victory over Arcadia Saturday, Spiegel backed up his performance by finishing with a career-high 21 kills on 34 attempts, hitting. 500 with three blocks and seven digs for a career-high 22.5 points.
Spiegel and the Hawks are back in action Wednesday when they host No. 1 Springfield in the Hawk Center at 6 p.m.
