Hoboken, NY— The State University of New York at New Paltz fell 7-0 too the Stevens Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon.
"Against a very strong Stevens team we really stepped up our level of play" says coach
Rob Bruley. "Our highlights today was a win at #1 Doubles with Justin and Sam beating an extremely strong team and Angelica winning her singles match at #5 singles in a highly contest 3 set match."
Doubles: Sam Ostrander and
Justine Stanejko played first winning their match with a 6-3 set.
Alex Krol and
Olivia Kunz played second doubles and fell 6-0.
Nina Genzone and
Angelica Gabriel also lost their match to the Ducks, falling 6-4.
Singles: Stanejko played first singles falling 6-3 in her first set and 6-2 in the second. Ostrander played second singles falling 6-3 in both sets.
Sydney Sladicka played third singles falling 7-5 in the first set and 6-3 in the second.
Krol played fifth singles falling 6-3 and then 6-2. Gabriel won her match, falling 6-4 in the first set, won the second set 6-1 and won 10-5 in the tie breaker. Kunz played sixth singles falling 6-1 in her first set and 6-2 in the second.
The Hawks head to Purchase, NY to play Manhattanville University at 4:00p.m. on Tuesday.
