The win keeps a berth into the SUNYAC Tournament within reach for the Hawks.

After a scoreless first half, senior forward Harrison Lane (Glenmont, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) put the Hawks up a goal at the 50-minute mark after a scramble in front of the goal ended with Lane having an open net. In the 62nd minute, freshman midfielder Joseph Hughes (Westbury, N.Y./Carle Place) pushed the lead to two after firing a cross from senior midfielder Mateo Cordini (Buenos Aires, Argentina/San Martin de Tours) past the keeper to the back of the net.

Buffalo State's Chris Haney put the Bengals on the board at the 89:20 mark after drawing a foul in the box and scoring on the ensuing penalty kick.

Sophomore goalkeeper Steven Domino (Valatie, N.Y./Ichabod Crane) picked up his fifth victory of the season after stopping three shots and giving up a single goal. Ian Huntoon took the loss, allowing a pair of goals and making eight saves.

Senior midfielder Shanshe Khosroshvili (Brooklyn, N.Y./Edward R. Murrow) blasted a game-high seven shots, leading the Hawks to a 27-10 shot advantage, which includes a 10-4 edge in shots on net. New Paltz also held an advantage in corner kicks by a 3-2 margin.

New Paltz completes its SUNYAC schedule tomorrow, Oct. 20, with a matchup against SUNY Fredonia (4-12-1, 3-4-1 SUNYAC), which is coming off a 7-0 shutout at the hands of SUNY Oneonta.
